FAQs

Planning a trip to Spain?

These are the most common questions I get about private tours in Madrid, itinerary planning, and how to make the most of your time in Spain without rushing between cities. If you’re still figuring things out, you’re not alone — most travelers start here.

Is a private tour in Madrid worth it?

Most people I meet have already done group tours in other cities — and they all say the same thing: you follow a flag, you hear part of the story, and you move on.

A private tour works differently. We move at your pace, focus on what actually interests you, and connect the history so Madrid makes sense — not just a list of stops.

If you’re the kind of traveler who wants context, not just sights, then yes — it’s worth it.

How many days should I spend in Madrid on a first trip?

For most first-time trips, 3 to 4 days in Madrid works well.

That gives you time to:

● Explore the historic center
● Visit one or two major museums
● Take a slower walk through neighborhoods
● And still have time to enjoy the rhythm of the city

Less than that, and it starts to feel rushed. More than that depends on how you structure the rest of your trip.

Is a private tour better than a free walking tour?

They’re very different experiences.

Free tours are designed for volume: large groups, fixed routes, and a general overview.

A private tour is designed around you. We can stop when something is interesting, skip what isn’t, and go deeper where it matters. It’s also simply easier to move through the city without a group.

If you’re trying to understand Madrid — not just see it — a private tour makes a noticeable difference.

Can you help plan my Spain itinerary?

Many itineraries I see try to fit too many cities into too few days. It looks good on paper, but in reality, it turns into time in trains and check-ins.

I help you simplify the route, decide what’s worth your time, and structure the trip so it feels manageable and enjoyable.

If you’re still figuring things out, this is usually better solved in one conversation than hours of research.

Where will you pick me up to begin the tour?

I can pick you up directly where you are staying, or we can arrange a meeting point in a central part of the city, such as Puerta del Sol

How many people are on the tour?

The group size is entirely up to you!

I don’t mix different groups together because I want us to be able to talk, laugh, and move at your own rhythm. Whether it’s just you and me, a couple on a getaway, or a big, happy family of 8 or more, we’ll stay together as one group.

The idea is that you feel you’re walking through Madrid with a local friend who is there just for you and your favorite people.”

Is your tour family friendly?

Of course! As a mom of two boys, I know how important it is to engage young travelers with respect, understanding, and stories that spark their curiosity.

Are food and beverage included?

Food and drinks are not included, which gives you full flexibility to choose what and where you’d like to eat. I always recommend places based on your preferences and budget, with no commissions involved.

Can tours adapt to dietary restrictions?

Yes. Let me know in advance and I’ll plan stops that fit your needs safely.

Can tours adapt to mobility needs?

Yes. Routes are fully flexible and can be adjusted to ensure a comfortable experience.

What happens if I am late?

Life happens! If you are running behind, just send me a message so I don’t worry. I’ll always do my best to be flexible — if my schedule allows it, we can extend the tour so you don’t miss anything (any extra time is simply added at the end). If I have another commitment after, we’ll make the most of the remaining time.

Can I extend the tour time?

Yes. If availability allows, we can extend the tour or adapt it into a longer experience, including food or tapas stops.

I need to reschedule or cancel my tour, what do I do?

As no prepayment is required, just contact us as early as possible so we can adjust your booking.
If you’d like to cancel your tour, please do so well in advance so we can book someone else in your slot.

Are tickets included? (Transportation, museums)

Tickets for optional activities can be arranged separately. Most tours focus on walking the city, so in many cases no tickets are needed at all. When something is worth including, I’ll guide you on what makes sense for your plans.
